Each Solent Mediation Group mediator is an independent practitioner and each will have his or her own terms and conditions of business.
Expect:
That unless otherwise agreed, the parties will meet the mediation fees equally.
Fees are to be paid in advance of the mediation taking place.
Mediator fees are usually subject to VAT, but note that some Solent Mediation Group mediators do not charge VAT as they fall below the VAT threshold.
If the mediation runs over the agreed time, the mediator will invoice for ‘overtime’ after the mediation
The mediator will also claim reasonable travelling and other out of pocket expenses
If mediation is cancelled at short notice, the mediator will be entitled to all or some fee
Parties will be responsible for paying for a suitable venue for the mediation
There may be an assistant or pupil mediator present. This will usually be someone training as a mediator. Usually assistants or pupils are not paid and they are bound by the same conditions of neutrality and confidentiality as the principal mediator
Parties are responsible for paying their solicitors or other professional advisors
Call now, without obligation, to arrange a confidential initial conversation with a mediator to see whether your situation might benefit from mediation.
