Geoffrey Salvetti
Personal Details
Born 1950 and married for more than 30 years with three children. Geoffrey has been a National Chairman and founder member of Focus Law (Forces Legal Network). He has also been the Chairman of a large Council of Voluntary Service as well as having been a Director and Board Member of a large regional Hospice; a Director of a Business Partnership of Local Authorities, Statutory Sector and Voluntary Sector, a Trustee of a National Museum and has also enjoyed a military career serving with both Regular and Resrve Forces.
Geoffrey has also contributed to the Parliamentry drafting of the Reserve Forces Act 1996 and the Armed Forces Act 2006, having been nominated by th Royal Navy to make representations to the Parliamentry Select Defence Committee dealing with military employment issues. He has also contributed to the initial drafting of Joint Service Publication 532 for the reinstatement of Reserve Forces Personnel into civilian employment following demobilisation and reinstatement proceedings before the Reinstatement Committee (Employment Tribunal)
Geoffrey has also been Chairman of a specialist Historical Educational Charity, which provides advice and assistance to National and Local organisations and Trusts in relation to Victorian Military Fortifications throughout the world for many years.
Experience
Qualified as a Solicitor is 1976 and is the Senior Civil Litigation Partner of a seven office law firm in South East Hampshire and West Sussex. Head of a Specialist Litigation Department.
Geoffrey has had broad experience of all types of Litigation and is a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel, a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), a founder member of the Forces Legal Network and of the Association of Military Court Advocates (AMCA).
Accredited by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) 1999.
A Community Mediator with Mediation UK since 1999.
Member of two other Mediation panels.
Member and former Chairman of Solent Mediation Group.
Extesively involved in setting up a Court referred Mediation scheme in South East Hampshire.
Geoffrey became involved with using Mediation as a means of settling litigation disputes having been extensively involved in negotiating settlements in litigation claims and Employment Tribunal cases for more than 30 years. He has been involved in the settlement of a range of disputes including Personal Injury, Contract, Employment, Commercial Litigation and Negligence claims.
He has been a member of the Solent Mediation Group, of whic he was the Chairman for over twelve years. Geoffrey's experience includes Time Limited and Court Ordered Mediations as well as Multi-Party actions, Court Multi-Track actions including Multi-Million pound claims.
